Would also likely get a development opportunity

In franchise mode I draft evasive backs. As you update their elusiveness their fracture tackle evaluation will go up and you get more of the Madden player breaking tackles in their with no stick work. For instance, I've a hb I drafted first round that had speed, acceleration and agility all in the nineties. He had a fracture handle evaluation of like 73 but after 5 years updating just elusiveness his fracture tackle rating is like 86. He is a complete monster. Runs like Alvin Kamara. I do not even use a run heavy scheme either. Mostly gets touches from flat routes, inside zone runs and displays.

That's essentially the main"update" Otherwise, it feels a lot like Madden 19, but with more stuff tossed into franchise where you'll have situations pop up not only for Madden player growth, but resting a starter if you have secured the playoffs (fewer snaps played way higher endurance at the playoffs, but more snaps means higher morale), or even a elderly Madden player who hasn't won a Super Bowl attempting to receive one at the playoffs with the defense rallying around them (huge morale boosts to the defense), after which they state they'll retire (although JJ Watt said he placed in his retirement papers once I won the Super Bowl and then didn't retire, so I guess it isn't working quite as intended.

For immediate effectiveness, it is much less useful. If you want to make sure to develop the man with his Star or Superstar development (which he virtually certain has Hidden dev), then yeah, playing him is best. A recipient could work if you're controlling the offense and can get him in position to use him nicely (i.e. slot WR and use plays to get him past the defense). The DT. Depending on his characteristics, you might not see an excessive amount of reduction if you are allowing the plays play out (i.e. SuperSim in Slow, or play any other defensive position), however if it's up simming it'll see his lesser OVR as being effective. He'll get XP from playing with would develop faster and unlock the evolution quicker.

It is very much worth it to attempt for them if they're Superstar attribute. If only Star, then they may take some time to make it to. (The WR could have a better shot if you perform and get him a good piece of stats, which could place him in line for OROY. Would also likely get a development opportunity if he is doing well, which would make him develop faster and give much more XP.) If you are not opposed to"cheating" it, and you are running a private franchise, then it is possible to proceed to Edit Madden participant, move over to the second to last port, and it is going to show their true development at the top. Or you may try comparing the XP they gain to additional Madden players in the position for similar situations.
