Another issue that is painfully obvious is that they've been squeezing their Runescape players dry to fund a massive series of failures. All of the money that was spent on Stellar Dawn (Mechscape), Thirdscape and a bunch of free iPhone apps, as well the massive fee for licenses to the Transformers name, as well as the huge sums of money used in the development of the Transformers game have all come from Runescape players.
Other flops by Jagex (8 Realms and Funorb) weren't as popular. Although Jagex's other flops (8 realms, Funorb, etc.) may have brought some money, I doubt that they covered the costs of development. Therefore, we're subsidising those. Runescape isn't getting quests because developers are busy working on other games that aren't going to become playable.
They have released Birthright of the Dwarves just a couple days ago and it's supposed to be a good and difficult adventure. It's not yet completed for me since I'm not equipped with the prerequisites. However, the majority of players are having difficulty in the boss fight(s).
Jagex is also working on two other quests. "Missing The Presumed Death" is a story that involves Sliske as well as Itchlarin (as in Grimreaper) and Death. It will revolve around Sliske’s "rivalry" (probably not a good word, since I don’t think it could even be called rivalry since Itchlarin is more powerful than Sliske) with Itchlarin’s disappearance.
